Battery Life and Charging

  • Charging: The H1-2 battery supports fast charging with a current of 9 A. With its fast charger, the standard battery charging time is approximately 0.8 hours, while a long-range battery can take up to 1.5 hours.

Safety and Management

The Unitree H1’s battery incorporates a sophisticated, self-developed Battery Management System (BMS). This system is crucial for ensuring the battery’s longevity and the robot’s safe operation. The BMS provides several protective features, including:

  • Overcharge and Over-discharge Protection: Prevents damage from over-voltage or running the battery down too low.
  • Short Circuit Protection: Automatically shuts off the power in case of a short circuit.
  • Temperature Protection: Monitors the battery temperature to prevent charging or discharging in unsafe conditions.
  • Balanced Charging: Ensures that all cells within the battery are charged evenly.
  • Self-discharge Protection: The battery can automatically discharge to a safer storage level (around 65%) if it remains unused for an extended period, which helps preserve its health over time.
